Perky may be the first word that pops into your mind when you meet her, but there is much more to her than glitter and giggles. Meet Wezlynn Davis, Director of Business Development. Her history with Salon Schools Group started innocently enough – she thought she’d attend The Spa School to become an Esthetician. Soon after graduation she put on her white lab jacket, whipped out the beakers and developed her own customizable skin care line…Bing Bang Boom – here she is – owner of The Beauty Lab in Delaware, OH and working to spread the beauty love at Salon Schools Group! What CAN’T she do? We haven’t figured that out! She does it ALL – Product development, curriculum design, school admissions, Super Mom, Master of Skin Care…there’s more but we’re tired of typing
Know anyone who has a pet hedgehog, much less two hedgehogs? Then meet Sabrina Walden, “mommy” of Murff and Cutie, also mother of one human. Sabrina will be involved in every aspect in your term as a student as she assists other staff members in making your education relevant, fun and hassle free!
While grounded firmly in reality (mostly) she enjoys other-worldly pursuits through MARCON (Multiple Alternate Reality Convention) – with Steam Punk being her favorite alternate genre and Sci Fi being her favorite reading material. (Werewolf? There wolfe!)
When nature calls, she answers! Wait, that doesn’t sound right…she LOVES nature! Give her a body of water and she’ll swim it; a plot of land and she’ll camp it; a furry friend, she’ll pet it.
Give her a student with a financial aid problem and she’ll solve it! At Salon Schools Group she’s our Vice-President, Student Aid.
Her extensive background in Federal Financial Aid programs and legislation makes her an invaluable asset to our staff and, especially, our students. In addition to her work family, Cheryl enjoys a loving family full of children and grandchildren. Bonus? She’s super sweet!

What is Salon Schools Group?
Salon Schools Group is comprised of four Ohio State School of Cosmetology locations, Nationwide Beauty Academy, The Spa School, and The Hair Experts Barber School, all located in central Ohio, under the same professional ownership, and not affiliated with one national retail product company. This independence allows a myriad of teaching philosophies, hair and skin techniques and products so critical for well-rounded student education.
Why should I choose a Salon Schools Group school?
In addition to local on-site management, and professional, independent ownership, SSG is the only group of schools within Ohio licensed and accredited to offer all disciplines in the cosmetology, barber, esthetics, spa and nail industry. As an all-encompassing career group, prospective students are assured they can choose the specialty school best suited to their career goals-true one stop shopping! Should SSG graduates decide to acquire a compatible and additional license, generous tuition reductions are offered.
What are the differences between Ohio State Cosmetology Schools and Nationwide Beauty Academy?
Nationwide Beauty Academy has a long and laudable reputation, and is renown for using a variety of teaching methods known world-wide. Through its specific Salon Oriented Program, Nationwide provides the professional structure to develop true hair designers. Our graduate designers are ready, willing and able to blend into any professional salon, and they know why as well as how something works. Knowing how only results in technical skills. Knowing why allows the freedom to create. This freedom is achieved through a unique educational system, incorporating salon reality with technology on the cutting edge of education.
Nationwide Beauty Academy is the only Salon Schools Group member to offer the 1500 Basic Cosmetology course, developed for those who know they plan to work for an existing salon upon graduation. This course does not include the management program, and therefore is considerably shorter (just 9 months on a fulltime schedule). Many NBA students have their career positions already organized, and the shorter course allows them to enter the profession much earlier.
Ohio State Schools of Cosmetology has enjoyed the same leadership for 35 plus years with a strong core group of fully licensed educators. We’ve “been there, done that” and confidently will continue to be the education leader in Ohio! From our original downtown Columbus school we have grown to offer what we refer to as “Complete Cosmetology” in beautiful facilities located in high traffic areas of central Ohio. Our students benefit from our multiple-personality schools.
The beauty industry is constantly changing and so are we! You can be assured that the training we offer is up to the minute in hair styling, hair cutting and product knowledge. Our skin care lines are imported from France and Hungary; our hair care lines include Paul Mitchell, Matrix, Nexxus, and many others – a variety of professional products found in the most exclusive salons and spas. Complete Cosmetology!
